I sell high-quality prints, cards and stickers of my work - often with hand-finished embellishments to make each one truly unique, and I also create custom pieces. I regularly update my Blog and Substack with articles and long-form pieces that delve deeper into my art process, as well as the stories and legends inspiring my work.

Be sure to check out my galleries to see some examples, as well as my shop, and if there’s a project you’d like to discuss with me, feel free to contact me here!

The Puddles of Ink Story

My name is Avni Bhagwan, and I am a self-taught artist based in London.

I love to capture and tell stories in my work; whether I’m inking a character from literature, penning my own adaptation of a forgotten tale from folklore, or using another medium to take the viewer on a unique experience, I want to immerse you in another world with all that I do.

I created Puddles of Ink on the floor of my bedroom many years ago. I’ve been drawing and writing for as long as I can remember, and the more I’ve escaped into books, film and music, the more intricate and magical my work has become. I love capturing moments in ink: the versatility and permanence of the medium reminds me of why I am so drawn to folklore and fairy tales - whilst they may be adapted over centuries, their resonance to cultures across the world has only strengthened over time.

I never want to forget the stories my grandmother told me as a child on sticky monsoon nights in India; nor do I want to forget the stories about my dad’s escapades across the world that fed my imagination as a child.

This, like family, is at the heart of everything I create, and I hope, if nothing else, reading this inspires you to recall a story that’s special to you.
