Background, inspiration, tools and supplies:

What’s your favourite medium to work with?
Ink - as I’m sure you can guess from the name Puddles of Ink! I love how versatile it is; I can play with how soft or harsh it appears, layer it, dilute it, scratch it into a page with a stiff nib, or sweep it carelessly across a surface with a large brush. I love the finish of it, and I get inspired so, so much by the way in which artists from around the world and across the ages have used it… Can you tell I’m a little obsessed?

Where did you study art?
I’m self-taught :)

What do you use for digital art?
I use a XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro Graphics Tablet - I adore this so much, it’s the perfect size for me, easy to install, it’s got a nice, clean design and makes drawing so effortless! I also use a HUION Inspiroy H640P graphics tablet for when I’m on the go, or needing to add details to videos/ illustrations from my phone.
I also flit between different programmes and software depending on my mood, but I mostly use Sketchbook Pro or Krita. Some of my older digital art was done on Rebelle 3 by Escape Motions, which I also really like for its realistic watercolour effects. I always state what I used for each piece, but if you’re unsure feel free to ask!

What do you film your art videos with?
I film most of my videos with a Sony DSCHX400VB.CEH Digital Compact Bridge Camera, and I love it to pieces! I’d really recommend it if you don’t have a massive budget but you want something that’s really good quality and easy to use. I also use my phone for quicker process videos/reels.
The tripod I use is a 50” Lightweight one from Amazon, and it’s perfect - I’d definitely recommend it if you need a basic tripod for versatility and ease of use.

What do you use to take pictures of your work?
I either use my filming camera or the camera on my phone.

What editing software do you use for your videos and photos?
For my videos I use Animotica (the premium version), or the YouCut app.
For my photos I use Snapseed.

  • What other technical equipment do you use for your art?
The scanner I use is the Canon LiDE 300 Colour Flatbed Scanner.
The printer I use is the Canon Pixma iX6850 WiFi Office Printer.
I currently use this Light Box and I absolutely love it! You can watch me unbox it over on my IGTV; I’d definitely recommend it as it comes in a really nice case with a useful glove and the cable is a good length. I also used this Lightbox for years and it served me well; you can get it in various sizes depending on what you need, and it’s so portable and easy to use.
And whilst this isn’t exactly technical, I couldn’t do without my portable table from Amazon. There is a part of it that lifts up at an angle so I can work easily, there’s a small draw to put go-to supplies in, and I can use it anywhere so I’d really recommend it, especially if you’re a bit strapped for space!

Where can I buy your art?
You can buy my art exclusively from my Shop!
You can also email me ( puddlesofinkofficial@gmail.com ) or use the form on my Contact Page if you wish to discuss a commission.

Orders, Shipping and Returns

Orders, Shipping & returns:

Which payment processor do you use and how secure is it?

I use Stripe to process each order on this website, and it is incredibly secure and convenient. All major credit cards are recognised, as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay - read more about their services here. I do not store or have access to any of your payment details; make sure you read my Privacy Policy for more information.

How are the orders packed and shipped?

All orders are packed by me; due to Covid 19 I have implemented thorough precautions to ensure this process is as safe as possible. Please email me if you have any questions about this process.
I have tried to make sure all of my packaging is as sustainable as possible. You can read more about that and the companies I have used in a blog post coming very soon!

Do you ship internationally?

Yes: I ship worldwide.

How much does shipping cost?

  • Within the UK: £1.99 for most packages, however larger orders (2kg+) will be £3.

  • Internationally: Standard shipping rates will apply based on the rates applicable via DHL to your country. Always check the customs information for your country, as you may incur extra import charges.

I always send orders via tracked delivery. This ensures the best security in the event of a delay in delivery or the package becoming lost in transit. Occasionally I run promotions with free delivery, but the packages will still be tracked, it will just be deducted from the cost for you.

When will my order arrive?

This largely depends on the nature of the product you've ordered, so please read the product descriptions carefully as I will always state clearly on there. But for general guidance:

  • Digital downloads/e-products: instant - no shipping involved so a link will be emailed to you as soon as your payment has been processed.

  • The majority of physical stock (stickers, prints, gift tags): will be shipped within 2-3 working days, however during busier times or another unexpected lock-down, the dispatch time can take between 3-7 working days.

  • Personalised pieces (digital or physical): will be discussed and agreed upon during the commission meeting.

I pack every single order and personalise each piece by hand, and I ship them myself too, so please be patient during busy periods: you will always be notified if there is going to be a delay of as soon as I am made aware of the issue.

I haven't received my order - what do I do?

Please ensure you have waited the full estimated time of 3-7 working days dispatch time before worrying. Due to the pandemic, orders are taking longer to reach their destinations across the world. However, once the estimated delivery time has passed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will investigate for you. As stated previously, every order is tracked via Royal Mail or an international courier service, and so once they have updated me I will be able to notify you accordingly.

What is your returns policy and how do returns, exchanges and refunds work?

You can read my full returns policy here, but to sum up:

  • Contact me within 30 days of receiving your order outlining any issues, and we can discuss if a replacement, exchange of equal value or refund is the right option for you.

  • I will email you a shipping label, as well as a confirmation of the transaction, which you can print off and use to return the product.

  • Please reply to this email with confirmation of sending the product back to me.

  • Once I have received it, the money will be returned back to you via a Stripe transaction. In the event of a replacement or an exchange, your new product will be shipped as soon as I receive your returned item.

Re-Sharing and Original pieces:

If I've purchased something from you, can I use that design to produce my own t-shirts, prints, logos etc.?

No. Purchasing my art does not mean you automatically own the design; it means you own that particular print, poster or sticker. I retain all reproduction and copyrights.

Can I re-post your work?

You may re-post and share my work IF you credit me for it: Either tag me as @puddles_of_ink or Avni Bhagwan. You may not pass my work off as your own or someone else's, nor may you alter or transform my work.

How can I request original pieces?

It's rare that I sell originals, so if there's a piece you want please email me here, ideally with the name of the piece you're interested in, and I will get back to you. In some instances, the originals are in my sketchbooks and therefore cannot be sent, but I may be able to create something similar as a commission.

I want to buy one of your pieces that isn't listed in your shop: how can I do that?

Please contact me here, stating clearly which piece you're interested in and if you want a physical print, original or a digital one, and I will get back to you ASAP with details on how to proceed.

Are your prints signed?

All of my prints are stamped by me with my logo in the bottom corner. I sign limited edition prints myself, as well as number them, on the back.
